Setting Up/Supplying Artwork

These guidelines are designed to minimise additional work.
Artwork should be supplied in Quark Xpress or InDesign
Document size equal to final intended printed job size
Apply bleed to all pages, minimum of 3mm
No forced embolding or italicising
All trapping information correctly specified (i.e. spread, choke, overprint)

Images should be supplied as CMYK in the following formats (No RGB formats)
EPS - No JPEG Encoding
TIFF - No Compression
JPEG - Maximum Quality
No other additional work required by GPS (apart from Imposition).
Supply a full set of lasers with job.
Alternatively, artwork may be supplied as PDF's and should be:
Pre colour separated
All fonts embedded
Include 3mm bleed and crop marks
Hi Resolution - Minimum 300dpi

Prepress Checklist

1 Flightcheck preflight is carried out on artwork ensuring all files are supplied and file types are correct.
2 Pages are ripped prior to proofing ensuring data integrity from proof to plate.
3 Pages are digitally proofed on colour press profiled Xerox DC5252.
4 Work is automatically backed-up to digital tape each night in case of disk failure.
5 On approval pages are imposed using imposition software ready for imaging to plate.
6 A file is sent to the printing press setting the ink ducts for each section of each job.
7 Plates are laser imaged on Screen PlateRite CTP device which can produce 16 B1 plates per hour.
