GPS and Norforkline Turn the Sea Green

GPS Colour Graphics, winner of the UTV/Business Eye Green Company of the Year and the Environmental Printer Of the Year for the fourth year in a row, continue in their quest to reduce the environmental impact of commercial printing by completing the first PEFC accredited brochure printed in Northern Ireland.

The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.

Announcing GPS' first PEFC publication Diane Poole, General Manager, Norfolkline Irish Sea Ferry Services, gives Captain of the Lagan Viking, Roberto Budacovi, his first look at the 2009 Passenger Brochure, the first PEFC accredited brochure printed in Northern Ireland by GPS Colour Graphics, represented by Sales Executive, Georgina Barrett.

Like GPS Colour Graphics, Norfolkline Irish Sea Ferry Services, one of Northern Ireland's largest passenger ferry companies, has recently shown its ongoing commitment to reducing their environmental impact by opting to print all their Northern Ireland, 2009 Passenger brochures on PEFC accredited paper and by using GPS Colour Graphics, Ireland's first printer to be Carbon Neutral and have the prestigious PEFC and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) accreditation.

"We are delighted to be able to assist Norforkline Irish Sea Ferry Services with their environmental drive. Having been voted Environmental Printer of the Year for the past four years, we have the perfect credentials to be print partner to any organisation that is looking to cut down on the environmental impact of their print production," stated Helen McClay, GPS Business Development Director.

"At GPS we are totally committed to reducing our impact on the environment and by offering companies the choice to use paper from accredited sources, means that those organisations can reduce their environmental impact also", continued Helen.

Norfolkline Irish Sea Ferry Services' General Manager Passenger, Diane Poole said, "We have opted for Ireland's first Carbon Neutral Printing company, GPS Colour Graphics to print their 2009 Passenger brochure, which has been designed by Walker Communications. Norfolkline Irish Sea Ferry Services are committed to a policy of corporate and social responsibility. Environmental awareness and policy is a key deciding factor in supplier selection for us. Norfolkline Irish Sea Ferry Services are proud to support the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes accreditation."

This is the first PEFC job completed by GPS Colour Graphics and is part of their ongoing environmental plan which includes being Ireland's first printing company to become Carbon Neutral and have the PEFC and FSC accreditations.
